Apple Cider Dip
A Perfect Fall Treat.
Have any leftover apple cider from Thanksgiving? Save it to make one of the most addictive sweet dips. This apple cider dip is cold weather favorite. Serve it at your company holiday party, as an appetizer on Christmas Eve, or for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Pair with cinnamon toast or original Pretzel Crisps® for the ultimate finger food combination.
- One gallon of apple cider
- Cinnamon sticks (You may also use anise if you like)
- About 1/8 cup corn starch
- 16 ounces cream cheese
- Pretzel Crisps®
Begin by boiling down your apple cider by adding apple cider and cinnamon sticks to a pot. Bring to a boil for 15 minute, then lower to a low boil/high simmer and cook uncovered for about 2 hours. You can carry on about your day while the cider boils. Do laundry, work out, watch TV, or whatever you like to do around the house. Just check in every once in a while to stir.
Whisk in the corn starch, and set stove to low. Allow to warm for about 30 minutes. It will become thick and boiled down:
Strain into a bowl. Place covered in fridge to cool. In the meantime, add softened cream cheese to a mixer and whip.
Pour in cooled apple cider and continue to mix on low.
Store covered in fridge until ready to serve. What makes this dip the best appetizer for holidays, is that you can make this days ahead and quickly serve the day off.
