Homemade Almond Butter Balls

I don’t know about you, but I love to have a little sweet treat after dinner every night. Usually, it’s a piece of dark chocolate or a cookie, but I like to incorporate nutritious desserts into my diet on occasion, which was the motivation for creating these Almond Butter Balls.

Made with satisfying and heart-healthy rolled oats and almonds, these Almond Butter Balls have just the right amount of sweetness along with a serious nutritional punch. Trust me, you need to try them!

  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp ground flaxseed meal

(recipe makes 1 dozen balls)

Add almond butter, almonds, honey, oats, raisins, salt, and cinnamon to a food processor.

Blend until smooth. (A few chunks are okay, especially if you enjoy a little crunch in your treats.)

Add ground flaxseed meal to a small bowl.

Use a tablespoon to portion out batter.

Roll batter between palms of hands and then roll around in the ground flaxseed meal, coating the outside completely.

Remove ball from ground flax, roll again into a ball, and place on wax paper. Continue this process for the remaining batter.

Once all of the batter is rolled into balls, refrigerate them for 3+ hours until they are firm to the touch.

The final step: eat and enjoy!

These Almond Butter Balls travel surprisingly well (just place in a Tupperware container to prevent squishing), so they’re great for snacking on the road as well as before or after a workout. I hope you make them—and, of course, love them!
